I love the look of the ruffle cuff Capri's that are out there for little girls and I wanted to fancy up some of my pants too! I was talking with my SIL and I told her that I wanted to add a fabric ruffle to my Capri cuff but I also wanted to remain neutral. She suggested lace and I thought it was a FABULOUS idea!
This project took me about 15 minutes.
Here is what you need:
Pants
Lace
Sewing machine and sewing tools (thread, scissors, etc...)
1. Cut off your pants if they are not Capri's already.
2. Cut your lace to fit around the cuff of your jeans PLUS 1/2 inch more!
Optional... I layered my lace to give it more width... but you can start out but wider lace too. {This lace was free! Thanks Mom!!}
3. Fold over your unfinished edge of your lace and zigzag stitch to finish it. (This is why we cut it 1/2 inch longer)
4. Pin the lace around your cuff. You can pin it to the front or the inside... it is up to you how you want it to be finished.
I found that using lots of pin helped!
5. Sew your lace to your jeans. I used a zigzag stitch, you can use a straight stitch too.
All done! Too CUTE!!
Here is a pair that I did with wider lace. I sewed the lace to the inside of the pants and left the bottom of the pant legs to fray a bit for added cuteness!

I need to do this to some of my jeans..
I'm short and have destroyed the hems in some of my jeans. Been debating making them capris but kinda wanted something "cute" but but not too cute since I'm 33yrs old.
Oh, so cute! I think they turned out adorable!
Super cute!
