I get to make all some fun projects for them!! Here is my latest!
We have a favorite book in our family: My Family is Forever by Nancy Carlson. It is a story about a little girl who is adopted and how even when families are formed differently they are still forever. It holds a special place in our hearts since both of our children are adopted.
So when I saw the "A Forever Family" quote over at Design Divas I had to get it!
I made a Forever Family plaque for my wall
Here is what you need:
Cuboard door {Look at the As-Is section at Ikea!}
Flower decals from Rockler
Krylon Spray Paint
DecoArt's Dazzling Metallics Elegant Finish paint
Design Divas' Vinyl decal
{Please ignore the extra frame in the picture... I will be using it in an upcoming project!}
I sanded and applied the decorative flowers to the corners.... Primed and spray painted with Krylon Oil Rubbed Bronze for the first layer and then Krylon White as the top layer.... and then distressed it with sand paper.
I made a glaze with with DecoArt Metallic paint. {I used Rich Espresso}. I did 1 part water to 1 part paint.I love how the metallic paint glaze leave a little shimmer, while at the same time making it look distressed!
Applied my vinyl
Here is the final plaque!
