Skil Power Skrewdriver Review and GIVEAWAY!

I was lucky enough to get a chance to review the Skil 360 Quick Select!  It is perfect since we are getting our house ready to sell and we have lots of projects we want to do to get our house in tip-top condition

SKIL has launched their new 360 Quick-Select – a 4V max screwdriver that features a fully integrated bit management system (including 12 of the most commonly used bits) built into the front of the tool in a rotating compartment. What’s more, the tool also comes equipped with the tool industry’s first-ever USB charging capability.  That means you could charge it from your computer!   As a blogger, that is awesome since we pretty much always have out computers with us! : )

It is pretty cool how it works.  You can look down from the top and there is a light that shines through it to show you what bit you have selected.   You slide the black tab forward to push the bit into the drill and the gage shows you how much power you have left!

The other thing I love about this is that all the bits are housed inside the drill so that I cannot drop and loose one!

The 360 Quick-Select™ houses 12 of the most commonly used bits in a rotating compartment, eliminating the need to stop working on a project to search for the right bit needed for the job.  It also has an LED light that shines right where you need it... my hubby says that is his favorite part!

You can go from putting in a new light switch cover.... to putting on new cabinet  knobs... to tightening up the hinges on your doors... all one right after another seamlessly!  All your bits are with you!

You know what I am going to use it for?
Opening up the compartment to change the batteries on all my kids toys!

***This giveaway is CLOSED!***
You know you want one too!   Great news- Skil is giving one away to one lucky F&J reader!  YAY!

All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what your last home improvement project was.

***Giveaway ends Monday July 8th, 2013 at midnight.  Winner will be selected by a random number generator.  Winner will be notified through E-mail. ***

*** Disclosure: I was provided with the Skil 360 Quick-Select but all my opinions are 100% honest!***

Passpost to Imagination - the cure to "I'm bored!"

Can you hear it?  "Mooooommmmm, I'm booooorrrred"  "What are we going to do today, mom?"  "there is nothing to do here!"  Well -Michael's Craft stores are here to help!
To help cure summer boredom, Michael's is offering a Craft Camp: Passport to Imagination for kids 5 and older.  It is 3 days a week (Mon, Wed, Fri) and cost just $2 a session (per kid)!  They will be taking  a journey around the world!  Each week they will make crafts as they travel to the 7 continents.  It started June 17th... but it is still going on and you can still get in on the action!  Check out some of the fun crafts they will be doing!

We were at Craft Camp this past week!  The kids loved it!  At our Michael's store here is how it runs.  It is open from 10 -12, but that means that we can show up anytime during those 2 hours... that is good for us since getting 3 kids out of the house on time is not one of my talents!

The nice lady who runs the craft camp at our store said I could also let let my 3 year old daughter join in the fun too... which is great since she would have thrown a fit otherwise! The crafts are created for 5 year-olds so she did need some extra help but it still worked for us!
Each visit we get to do 2 crafts!  All the supplies are prepared for us and ready for us to start!  At the end, all the craft mess stays at the store!  It is great!  I feel like a good mom because my kids are crafting but I am not crabby since there is not a big mess at my house!
We also got these cute bags to bring our crafts home in!  We bring them back with us each time and collect all the fun crafts!  My kids love having their own bags.  Everyday they grab their bags and ask if it is time for craft camp.

If you are looking for a fun easy way for you kids to do some crafts this summer head on over to your nearest Michael's Craft store for craft camp!

Kids DIY Monster Puppets

Thank you to Michael's Craft Stores for sponsoring this post!

It is summer and it is that time of year when we hear "I'm bored!" too often!  Here is a fun kids craft that create a puppet that will entertain them even after they make it!

Here is what you will need:
Felt Sheets
Scissors
glue
(I found that hot glue worked the best for the eyes and craft glue worked great for the rest)
Googley eyes
Other fun craft items (fuzzy balls, feathers, markers... what ever you got!)

To start off with I had my son draw a monster that he wanted the puppet look like.

1. Cut the puppet shape out of 2 pieces of felt.  Make sure that it is big enough for a hand to fit in.
2. Add your googly eyes.  I found that the craft glue did not stick to the plastic eyes so I used hot glue that worked.
3.  Add any other embellishments.
4. Sew around the outside of the puppet leaving the bottom open for a hand to fit in.

My son had a blast making his.  He was very serious about where he placed things.

Here are all of our monster creations!

The kids loved playing with them too!

This kid's craft project is part of Michael's Craft Stores' Summer Adventure program!  It is all about unplugging and creating some fun summer memories!

Disclaimer: Michael's provided a gift card for the craft supplies... all my opinions are 100% mine!

3 easy crafter's clay projects {#12MonthsofMartha}

***This post is written as part of the 12 months of Martha program.  I get craft supplies from Martha Stewart Crafts for free to create fun crafts with.  All my projects and opinions are 100% mine.***

It is time for another 12 months of Martha post!  This month we got Crafter's clay kits!  This stuff is so fun to work with!  As you can see from above I could not stop at just one project!  It just shows how versatile it is!  The crafter's clay kits and supplies are available at Michael's crafts stores, Joann's, and on Amazon.

Here is how you can work with the clay and the molds.
The kits comes with everything that you need, and it has plenty of clay to work with to make lots and lots of things!  It also comes with a color chart to show you how to create a bunch of different colors by mixing the clays together.

1.  Use the chart to mix a color of clay
2.  Mix your clay together and make a small ball
3. Choose a color for the center and place a small ball in the center of the mold.
4. use the tool to press it in place.
5. choose another color and fill the rest of the mold.  Make sure to press it into all the edges.
6. Pop it out of the mold and let it dry for 24 hours.

To make your flower into a hair clip:
1. Create your clay flower (let dry for 24 hours) and cut out some leaf shapes plus a circle and small rectangle (to fit your hair clip) out of felt.
2. Use hot glue to attach your leaves to the back of the flower.
3. Hot glue your circle over the the leaves.
4. Clip the felt rectangle in the hair clip and hot glue on top of it.
5. place the flower on the clip and let the glue set.

Use your clay molds to spruce up a gift bag...just hot glue your pieces to your bag!

They also add a cute dimension to gift tags too!

Check out more fun projects on the 12 Month of Martha Pinterest board!

***Disclosure: I was supplied with the Martha Stewart craft supplies but my opinions are always honest!***

Better Together with P+G and Target!

Thank you to P+G and Target for sponsoring this post!

I love clothes... I mean REALL love my clothes!  But- laundry is one of my least favorite things to do!  I mean as soon as you get it done, you have a whole huge pile waiting for you!  It is never ending!

But since it is necessary for me to do laundry I have found the best way to keep my clothes clean and smelling good!  I call it the triple threat:  Tide Cold Water detergent, Downy UnStopables and Bounce fabric softener.

Tide Cold Water Detergent gets my cloths clean and colors bright while saving me money by not using hot water!

Downy UnStopables keep you clothes smelling good for weeks!   It is great on towels too!  You know how towels can get that musty smell that you can never get out?  Downy UnStopables stop that from happening and your towels smell fresh and clean!

Bounce fabric softener makes you clothes soft and feeling great!

I really used all of these amazing products before I was asked to write this post! And I have for forever and I love my clothes so you know it is important to me to treat them right!

These 3 work better together to keep you and your clothes looking great!!

What will I be wearing this summer?

I like to pair a jean jacket with my summer clothes because you never know when the weather will turn in Minnesota or when you are going to be at a place with freezing AC.  Layers are a must for me!

I will be paring maxi dresses with a denim jean jacket and adding some fun color with some cute flats!

Denim+Maxi Dress = Better together!

I will also be pairing cute tank tops with Capri pants and a jean jacket!

Tank top+Capri pants+Jean Jacket = Better Together!

What are your go-to summer combos?

Summer adventures with Michael's

It's summer!  The kids are out of school, the weather is (supposed to be) nice, and there are more daylight hours.  It is a great time to take adventures and Michael's Arts and Craft stores want to help!

They are challenging us to take time off of our laptops and phones and find ways to celebrate summer with our families!  It is time to unplug and reconnect with what is important.  Relax and enjoy the summer.

As bloggers we are always trying to find that balance of online and offline.  This challenge asks us to cut back 2 hours a day... you can do 2 hours less time on the Internet!

I signed up right away!  With my 3 kids at home all day I know that I will need to have my focus on them and not on my blog or blog stats! That doesn't mean that I am going to give up completely... just cut back to get creative with my kids.

You know how it goes...  You are online browsing your favorite blogs, tweeting, Facebooking and completely annoyed that your kids want breakfast.   Can't they see that you are busy?!  And then the next thing you know it has been 2 hours and your kids are running around crazy and the house is trashed... (or does this only happen to me?)   SO a little time off for me is a good thing... balance!

Go here to sign the pledge and also get tons of fun crafting ideas for your summer adventure!

To help with our summer adventure Michael's is offering a Craft Camp: Passport to Imagination for kids 5 and older.  It is 3 days a week (Mon, Wed, Fri) and cost just $2 a session!  They will be taking  a journey around the world!  Each week they will make crafts as they travel to the 7 continents.   Check out some of the fun crafts they will be doing!

Passport to Imagination starts June 17th so hurry to your Michael's store to sign up - space is limited!   My son is going to love this!

Baby Boy 2 months

Holy Cow!  It has been 2 months since my baby was born!  I have heard that 2 months is a turning point for babies, and so far it seems to be true.  He is sleeping a little more and going longer between feedings and I am getting the hang of being a mom of 3.  So, for now life is better than it was a couple weeks ago.

It is so fun to see our little boy's personality come out.  He is a pretty happy baby!

We just had his check up and he is growing right on schedule!  13.5 pounds and 24 inches.

He is starting to smile a lot now, especially when his brother and sister are around!
Oh- and the baby coo-ing is the best sound in the world!

And I seriously can not stop kissing these cheeks!
