Paper Doily Crafts {#12monthsofMartha}

Here are this months crafts for our 12 Months of Martha posts!  Here is the loot that I got this month!
It included Martha's new Circle Edge Doily Punch!   I am so excited about this punch because there are so many things you can use them for!  They are going to be available March 2013 at Joann's and Michael's or now at Martha Stewart Crafts

Today I am going to show you 3 easy projects!

The Circle Edge Doily Punch is easy to use  The Starter kit come with a punch to start with you can pick your size (from 6" to 12") and place your paper on it.  It uses magnets to keep everything in place.  Then you punch and spin, punch and spin...continue all around the circle and you get a beautiful doily!

Once you have your doilies punched you can do all sorts of fun things with them!

Project 1:  Easy cute party favor bags
So easy- just use a ziploc baggie and put some treats or small prizes inside.  Fold your paper doily in half {or in this case 2 paper doilies- sizes 8 inches and 6 inches}.  Staple them over the top of the bag and done!  This are great for, little gifts,  birthday parties, showers and weddings!

Project #2: Paper Doily Garland:
Also so easy!  Fold your doilies in half and either glue or staple them over yarn or ribbon.  Great for seasonal decorating, parties or home decor!

You can also get other punches to make all sorts of fun doilies!

Project 3: Cards or scrapbooking:
These doilies are so great to add to a card or a scrapbook page!

Here are some more fun ideas for a party from Martha's page!   Those hats at just too cute!

Jeannine's No Bake Healthy(ish) Cookie Balls

cookie balls
This is our new favorite household snack. My favorite part about it is, when I have an attack of the munchies, just one of these beautiful babies is enough to satisfy my hunger. There is a decent amount of sugar in these (peanut butter, honey, and dried berries), but they are loaded with protein and fiber too. So you be the judge of how healthy they actually are... Moving with Apartments.com (and a giveaway!)

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of apartments.com for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
We are in the process of getting our home ready to sell.  We have been here over 11 years and when we moved in the plan was to stay 2-5 years... but we stayed longer and now we are out-growing our house, especially with a 3rd child on the way!  We are considering lots of places to move close to where we live and some father away.  One thing we are considering is renting for a while so that we can find the perfect place to live without feeling rushed.
If you are looking to move apartments.com can be very helpful.  They have listing of Apartments and homes for rent nation wide.

Just for fun I check out a couple homes they have for rent in our area.  Here are couple that I found that we could easily move into:

For more fun I checked out homes to rent in South Carolina.  My sister lives there and I have always wanted to live close her.  Here a couple homes that I would love to move into there:

10 Tips for Eating Healthy on a Budget

Hello friends! This is Jeannine. I know you don't see much of me over here, but I'm still here, hanging out in the background. I want to share with you all something that I've been working on for a while, and has seen some significant growth recently. After my daughter was born eight years ago, I started a personal blog for the purpose of sharing pictures and stories with my family and friends (including Fawnda, of course!) who live in different parts of the country than I do. Recently a local magazine here in Northern Indiana has been following and picking up some of my parenting stories and recipes. As a result, the blog is beginning to morph into something a little more specific: Natural Health and Food, as it relates to being a Mama in a large family (I have 5 kids). I post a lot of recipes (and try to keep them as healthy as possible), some DIY health and beauty products, as well as some writing on the struggles and triumphs of parenting. I want to invite all of our F&J followers to come over and check it out. I would love it if you would "like" my  Facebook page, follow me on Twitter, Pinterest, and/or subscribe to email updates directly from the blog. As an introduction, I am going to share with you one of my most popular posts to date, and one that is very near and dear to my heart:

10 Tips to Get You Started Eating Real Food on a Budget

YUM!

Do you wish you could eat healthier, but feel you can’t afford it? Canned and frozen produce is so much cheaper than fresh; white bread is cheaper than wheat, and organic foods are crazy expensive, right? I used to think I couldn’t afford it either, until I started doing it. When the doctor wanted me to take prescription SSRI’s (anti-depressants) for my anxiety, I went on a search for a more natural route. I have a friend from high school who is now a certified naturopath and knows a lot about the connection between clean eating and overall health. She pointed me in the right direction, and it has been a journey I never anticipated, but I absolutely love. Now, I’m going to give you some tips to get you started on a Real Food lifestyle without breaking the bank... (read more here).

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of QuadraFire for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It is cold in Minnesota in the winter... I mean bone chilling cold.  We have below zero temps for days at a time.  The worst day this year was  a high of -9 degrees F with a windchill of -20... Clean Bathroom and Kitchen

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of CLR for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I hate to clean.  There - I said it.  I am not a neat freak, sometimes I wish I was, but in general I need motivation to get a deep clean in my house.  Most time my motivation comes from having people over.  I keep my house "picked up"  it is not unsanitary, I just need to dust and scrub more often.

What do I hate to clean the most?  My kitchen and Bathroom.  I am fine with the living room... a good pick up and a vacuum and the living room is good... but the kitchen and bathroom- so much work!  That is where CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner comes in to help!

My husband was so excited about me getting a sample of CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner.  I have to write a post about cleaning great! :)  But this stuff is great for making cleaning the bathroom and kitchen bearable (I wont say enjoyable- because it will never be enjoyable!)

We got a new-to-us kitchen sink and faucet recently in our kitchen (My dad is a contractor and when he does remodels he will snag some of the stuff that would have otherwise been thrown out.) But the faucet needed some TLC!  CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner to the rescue!

It also was great in the bathroom.  This is the sink before and after!

I also tried it on my stove burner... Much better!  I am not going to lie to you- this took a lot of scrubbing on my part too.

CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner:

  • Quickly cuts through calcium, lime and hard water deposits, soap scum, dulling film and dirt.

  • Works fast and powerfully

  • Cleans quickly and effectively

  • Has the Environment Protection Agency's "DfE" (Designed for the environment designation - meaning it is safe for your family!)

Easy Burp Clothes {Tutorial}

I am working with WholePort - they sell a bunch of crafting supplies!  This month they sent me some fun baby print flannel fabric!   So I got to work making some things for our baby boy due April 7th 2013!

First up were Easy cute burp clothes:
Here is what you will need:
Cloth Diapers (I got my 5 pack at target)
Sewing Macine with sewing supplies (like thread, scissior, etc)

1. Cut your fabric so that it is about 1/2 longer then the sids and wide enough so that you can fold it around the end of the cloth diaper.  I make my about 6 inches wide so that it would be a 3 inch wide stripe.

2. Use an iron to press a 1/4 inch fold on all four sides.  This will give a finished edge.

3. Fold in half and pin around the botton of the burp cloth.  Sew on all 4 sides as close to the edge as you can.

4. Repeat for the other side.

Make as many as you want... they make a great baby shower gift!

I also make a blanket for the crib with the cute fabric and some soft minky.  I just cut out my crib size blanket (I used one I had from before... about 45X60 inches).  Sewed with right sides together leaving an opening to turn right side out.  Then turned it right side out and top sewed all around the edge closing the opening and done!

I also made a Crinkle Tag blanket
