We recently add a bathroom to our basement. It is now the nicest bathroom that we have (and it is in the basement, where only a few people see it) We had a small space to work with but we got a sink, toilet and shower in it! My Hubby did all the tile himself and also converted a dresser to a vanity. I really love how it all turned out!
The toilet is behind the door. Which I like so if someone were to "walk-in" on you they really wouldn't see anything. (See those cute TP rolls on top of the toilet... Tutorial at the bottom of the post!),
Accross from the toilet is the shower. My hubby did all the tile work here too!
Now here is an easy and cute way to spruce up your extra TP. I like to leave it on the back of the toilet so it is easy for guests to find if we run out. But since it is sitting out I want it to be cute! So, TP Bands were created!
Here is what you will need:
Hot glue gun and hot glue
Sewing machine (with thread, scissors, etc)
Cut your pieces: two 2'X5" pieces of felt, one 2"X10" piece of felt (for the flower), one 5" piece of elastic. one 1" piece of velcro.
Sew the Velcro on the ends of your 2"X5" felt pieces.
Sew your elastic to the other ends of the felt pieces to make a band with the elastic in the middle.
Now we are going to make the flower:
Take your 2"X10" piece of felt and fold it in half horizontally and either sew or hot glue shut.
Make slits about every 1/4 inch all the way down the strip.
Roll and hot glue all the way down your strip.
Hot glue your flower to your band covering up the Velcro seam.
It works great on the roll if you have little ones that like to play in the bathroom and unroll your TP when your not looking (I have a little girl who likes to do the to me!)
Or they are just cute on your extra TP rolls too!
