Pom Pom Canopy for my Sweet Girl's Room!

I have  been wanting to make a Pom-pom canopy for my daughter's room for a while now!  I went to Pinterest (follow me here!)  for some inspiration and came up with these two:
#1 comes from Under the Sycamore and #2 comes from Elle Interiors
Both are beautiful and just want I needed to get started!

Here is how I made mine:

First the Frame.
I made mine out of PVC pipes.
2 lengths of 1 foot and 2 lengths of .5 foot  plus 4 right angle connectors.
The nice man at Home Depot will cut them for you if your hubby wont! :)
I used wire to make the hanger.  I wrapped it about the corners and made and "x" in the middle to hang it from.

The Pom-Poms are made up of 3 different kinds of paper flowers/lanturnes
The purple paper lanterns came from Oriental Trading Company
The flowers and white lace lanterns came from Martha Stuart's party collection (found at Micheals and Joanns)
The Packages of pre-made pom-poms made it SUPER easy to put this all together... I highly recommend this!

But if you want to make your own it is easy too:
Gather a stack of tissue (about 12-16 layers would be good) you can cut a cute edge if you want too! : )
Fold your tissue accodian style (back and forth) about an inch thick all the way to the end of the paper.
Twist a wire around the middle of the folded tissue
Spread out the tissue into a circle

Pull each layer of tissue up to the middle making a full flower.

Once all your flowers/lanterns are made hang your frame from a hook and start placing your flowers.
I worked with the flowers first.  I tied them to the frame with string.  I tried to keep it all balanced working on both sides as I went... just put them in how ever you like them! :)

I used all the flowers first...

...Then I added the paper lanterns to fill it in.

Love. Love. Love!

Now while we cuddle on the rocking chair we are able to look up at this BEAUTIFUL canopy!

Here are some more pictures of my Sweet Girls room:
My husband hung the wainscoting and we painted it white together.  We also added the Crown molding.  The walls are painted with Manda Mudd (A textured paint to cover but their bad condition!)
The leaf and flower lights came from Ikea.

The Stenciled flower art is HERE

My Dad made this cradle for me when I was born.   My Daughter was 8 months old when she came home from Korea so, she never slept in it.... but it holds her babies and books!  I love that I can still pass it on to her!

I love it! I just made a bunch of decorations for my son's birthday party! I made those poms by hand, but bought some lanterns to go with it! I love the white lacey ones! They looks so fresh and girly! :) Great job!

What a gorgeous addition to your baby's room, just wonderful! This would be so adaptable for party decor or even, dare I say it, in my craft room? Love the cradle, too, very precious.
