Free Arts Minnesota!

Take a look at this great organization bringing together the awesomeness of art and children in a fun weekly mentorship program. They could use your help with volunteering and/or donations. Check it out!

Free Arts Minnesota is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the healing powers of artistic expression into the lives of abused, neglected and at-risk children. Founded by an art therapist over 30 years ago, she believed that art and positive adult relationships are not a luxury for abused children, but a necessity.

Free Arts will expand to twice as many sites in 2011 and both volunteers and donations are needed to make this happen!

If you live in the Twin Cities area, join our Weekly Mentorship Program; volunteers commit to 2 hours on-site each for a year-long commitment. Artistic experience is not required! Additionally, there are a variety of site locations throughout the Twin Cities with many time slots to accommodate busy schedules.

For those of you outside of Minnesota, they could still use your help! There are a variety of ways to contribute including making a financial donation, contributing art materials, sponsoring a Free Arts ‘festival of the arts’ Day, or just by spreading the word!
