Christmas in July! Randi from Dukes and Duchesses!

Welcome to Christmas in July! It is never too early to start planning for Christmas!
We have less then 1/2 a year left and it is time to get some inspiration for my favorite holiday!

Please Welcome Randi from Dukes and Duchesses

I'm Randi from Dukes and Duchesses and I'm so honored to be guest posting at Fireflies and Jellybeans today!

I'm a stay-at-home mother of five, ranging in age from one to thirteen.  My days are full of the usual family busy-ness but I always find time for a little sanity-saving creativity and I write about it all on my blog, Dukes and Duchesses.
I've recently started thinking about Christmas projects and today I'm going to share a simple paper bow project with you.  Last year, Real Simple had a cute idea for bows made from old books and I stole the idea and simplified it a bit (cutting out the twisting and turning that just wrinkled up my paper).

Using a book printed in Italian (just to add some cute factor), I cut strips 3/4 of an inch wide.  I left three strips full length, cut one inch off the end of two strips, and cut one strip down to 3.5 inches, for a total of six strips.

I glued each strip into a circle ...

... then laid them over each other with the longer strips creating the base.  The shortest strip sits in the middle.

So simple and so cute on my red polka dot wrapping paper left over from last year.

Thanks for letting me share this project today.  I hope you'll stop by for a visit and see a few more of my projects!

Cute bow. I love the Italian print instead of English. It makes it more mysterious.

I love this idea - and it's so simple even I can do it! :-) I think I might buy a book in French though. Very cute!
