Think Pink!

I have been keeping a big secret from you all!

We are adopting a little girl!

Many of you know that we adopted our son from Korea about 2 years ago, and we are matched with a baby girl from Korea to be our daughter!  We are BEYOND excited and happy about it! OVER THE MOON!

I don't normal get too personal on my blog but I am going to today!  We started our adoption journey for our daughter in April of this year.  We were told that the wait time to get a referral (that is when you are matched with a child) for a girl would take 12 -15 months and then we would have to wait another 11 months to travel to go get her (that is a total of 23-26 month wait).  Paperwork and governments work slowly in international adoption... it is a given.   Our Homestudy was approved in June, and we expected to wait at least a year before we heard anything about a child.

So, we took this information in stride and started to pray for our future daughter.  We were mostly OK with the wait knowing that God had the perfect daughter for us and that He would bring her to us in HIS time.  We prayed every night that God would move us up the waiting list and match us with the perfect daughter for our family.  We knew that it would be awhile but also trusted that God would be faithful and give us the daughter we so desperately hoped for!

I was home with my son when my social worker called.  It had only been 3 months so I was not expecting it to be about a referral of a child.  I thought she need some form from us or something.  I was very casual on the phone with her... until she said "Is {your husband} home?"  I said no he was at work and she said "do you think that I should conference him in?"

Hmmmmmm, if she needed a form, she would NOT need to conference call my hubby in so this must be something bigger

BIGGER indeed!  She went on to tell me that she had a referral for a little girl and wanted to know if we wanted to look at it.

HOLY COW!  I knew that when we prayed for God to move us up the list, He was doing that... I just did not think he would move us to the top SO FAST!!

The other great news was that this little girl is from a different Korean agency then most of the others and we could bring her home SOONER than the 11 months they originally told us!

God is so good.  I could not even imagine that He would work this fast!  He has been so faithful to us!

Our baby is 5 months old and could come in 3-4 months (or so) She will be around 9 months old when she comes home and she will be 2 years and 2 months younger than her brother!   She is BEAUTIFUL but, we cannot post pictures of her publicly until we bring her home so sorry about that! :)

We were expecting to wait for 2 years and now I have 3-4 months to get ready for my little girl!

So,  Here is what I need from you:  PINK and GIRLY projects!  Bring them on!  I am also looking for guest posters to fill in the time for when we travel to Korea and then when we are home having time for our family.  If you are interested in helping me out with a "maternity leave" and want to guest post a tutorial that you have done, send me an e-mail!  It would probably be some time in December or January that I would need the guest posting.

Link up you girly tutorials for me to start making stuff for my baby girl!

I think it's fabulous that you're adopting Korean babies! :) I'm half Korean, not adopted, but I do cherish my Korean heritage. I hope everything goes well! :) What are you going to name her?!

Adoption is dear to my heart and still puts a tear of joy in my eye. Our two adopted children are 25 and 27 now. The absolute lights of our lives. Now we have three grandchildren. God speed.
