Crystal from Crafts Spot {Blog Anniversary Celebration}

This week Fireflies and Jellybeans is turning 1 year old! Who wants to work on their Birthday? Not me! So, I have lined up some GREAT guest posts and some FABULOUS giveaways for this week!

Today we have Crystal form Crystal's Craft Spot

Hi Everyone! I am so excited to be guest blogging on Fireflies and Jellybeans today. I love their blog. Don't they have the best ideas!

I am Crystal from Crystal's Craft Spot. Its my little spot to share my current craft projects, tutorials, recipes, and ideas I want to use in the future. I started my blog because I didn't want to overload our family blog with my new creations. I try to post something new almost everyday and I enjoy a variety of crafts. It is my way to relax and take a break from a busy day. Here's a little more about me: I've been married for 5 1/2 years to the greatest guy ever.

I am a stay at home mom of two adorable little girls (4 and 2). They keep me very busy. When they are awake we spend our time playing, learning, making messes, and occasionally cleaning.

I teach my daughters preschool at home and we post our fun activities and crafts on our preschool blog.

I love to read, watch Lost, and movies

I love Blogs! I love looking at others for crafty inspiration, I love staying in touch with old friends and making new friends (I show up as the Harris family if I comment or follow your blog-sorry for any confusion)

Here are some of my favorite projects you will find on my blog: Family Motto , Easy Wall Art, fabric high chair, and My bedroom furniture

Last week we headed out of town with a 10 hour drive each way. I knew it was going to be tough so I planned ahead and made a few things that would make the drive a little easier. Today I thought I would share one of our kid's car pillows. It was super easy and didn't take long.

You need: a fat quarter (or enough fabric for whatever size you want), stuffing, and a sewing machine

Start by cutting a U shape out of your fabric the size you want your pillow. I made my sides thicker and the bottom (where the neck goes) thinner. I didn't want it pushing their heads out. Cut out two of them.

Pin right sides together and sew along the edges. Leave an opening to turn.
Turn your pillow and stuff. Sew the opening closed-I did that by hand.

My little one stuck it behind her head and then yelled "cheese" with a big goofy smile. She then pretended to sleep for the next picture. My kids know me and the camera to well.
If you want to use my pattern I'll be adding it to my blog shortly but if you would like it sooner please e-mail me ( I'm always happy to share. Also I will be sharing another variation later as well that helps with the head bobbing.

Thanks so much for letting me stop by. Please visit my blog anytime.
