5 Homemade Christmas Tags

Now that Thanksgiving is done... it is time to really focus on Christmas!

Here are 5 cute and easy Christmas tags, sure to add that special touch to any gift!

Tag #1
Supplies:
Card stock (2X3 rectangles)
Buttons
Glue
Marker

1.) glue your buttons to your card stock.
2.) Write "to" and "from"

Tag#2
Supplies:
Card Stock (or paper) scrapes and 4X4 squares
Ink
double sided tape (or other adhesive)
scissors
markers
1.) Out of your scraps, cut out tree shapes. (I made 3 for each tag)

2.) Ink the sides of the trees and the sides of the tags
3.) Attach your trees to the tag and write "To" and "From"

Tag #3
Supplies:
Card stock (3X4 rectangles)
Twine
Silk leaves (I cut mine off of a dollar store bunch of flowers)
Buttons
scissors
Marker
Hole punch
Hot Glue (not pictures)
1.) Gently fold 2 of your corners together (but do not press down the fold)
2.) Cut off part of the corner.
3.) Open it up and you now have a tag shape. Punch a hole at the top.
4.) Put a dime size dab of hot glue on one of the corners of your tag.
5.) Place 2 leaves in the glue
6.) Place a button over the top.

7.) Attach your twine and write "To" and "From"

Tag #4:
Supplies:
2 Coordinating Card stocks (Larger Rectangle - 3X4 Smaller rectangle- 2.5 X 3.5)
Double sided tape
Marker
Sewing machine (with thread)
1.) attach your smaller rectangle on top of the larger rectangle with just a little strip of adhesive in the middle. (you only need enough to hold in place for a little bit... we will be attaching it another way)

2.) Now walk to your sewing machine and set your stitch to zig zag and line up your tag so that the zig-zag stitch will sew on the paper. It is just like sewing on fabric... only the paper is a bit more stiff. You will want to use an older needle... sewing on paper is harder on your needles.
Try to sew right on the edge of the smaller rectangle.

3.) Sew on all four sides. This is how the paper is really attached.
4.) Add some more decorative zig zag stitches to the tag.

5.) Write "To" and "From".

Tag # 5
Supplies:
Paper (2X4 rectangles)
Ink (not pictured)
Hot Glue (not pictured)
Silk flowers
Buttons
1.) Go to the dollar store and buy some Christmas silk flowers for $1. Bring them home and take some of the flowers (It's OK because they only cost a $1!) and then take apart the flower. You want to only use the silk part of the flower. You can toss or find some other way to use the plastic pieces.
2.) Fold your paper in half too make a square.
3.) Ink on both sides of the paper (front and back)
I inked with green...

and then with brown on top.

4.) Hot glue your flower with a button on the top of it.
5.) Open up the little card and write "To" and "From"
There you have it... 5 little tags!

On Tag #2, how to you "ink" the sides with the green? :)

JoAnn-
I just rub the side of the paper on my green ink pad... nothing too fancy... I just want some green ink in the sides! :) I hope that this helps!
