A Make-Over For a Good Cause!

From long and luscious....

(These pics are not the greatest... but they are the BEFORE so I guess it ok to post them...)

TO....

Short and sassy!

I cut off 11 inches of my hair to donate to Locks Of Love. This is my 4th time donating hair. My hair grows SUPER fast - don't hate me- it is a blessing and a curse! It will probably take me about a year to grow it out to donate again. I have good hair and I love to be able to do something good with it. I am donating this hair in honor of my friend Kari who has breast cancer. She has been through much more than I could ever handle! She has 3 young children and a husband, she is doing fine right now, but there is always that risk.
If it is possible for you I encourage you to do the same! Some salons will cut your hair for free if you donate 10 or more inches.

Here is my hair that got chopped off:

Yes- that is all my hair! I have really thick hair - Please please don't hate me! : )

Beautiful! And Locks of Love is the one reason I keep trying to grow my hair out...but it always looks awful long. I like mine short.

Great style on you!

I did that once. Unfortunately my husband doesn't talk to me for a few days if I get my hair cut short (he takes it personally because I know he prefers long hair). So, I might never get to do it again, but your hair looks great!

Your hair looks great. I am hoping to donate myself in a few months. It is such a great cause and I have had a young cousin go through cancer and I know how much it means to them.

Four times? Oh my goodness! What a wonderful cause and how fantastic that you are using your God-given beauty to help others.

p.s. I'll try not to hate you, but as someone with incredibly thin hair I might just be a tad jealous.

My husband and I grew ours out over the course of 2 years and donated it last summer to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths (which makes wigs for women who are undergoing cancer treatments). We inspired our daughter who cut hers off this summer for Locks. She is only 5 and is starting over again. I am also going to try to do it again at least once more. I have to do it before I get all gray!

I want to thank you for being so thoughtful. It's so nice seeing others do something to help out anyway they can. I would like to discuss in private some other options and organizations. I work for a long hair salon (part time)and we have learned quite a bit from all the women who have donated in the past. Please shoot me an email if you would like to discuss. I do not want to seem like donating was wrong, in fact, quite the opposite. I just want to give you more information about it.

i don't hate you. :)
but my hair equals about 1/4 of your hair . . . and mine does not like to grow . . .
my neighbor donates 10 - 12 inches once a year! her hair is more like yours! only hers is curly, too!

anyway - way to go!

Hi, I have the same sort of hair than you do. Fast growing and even the color is the same. But my hair do not look great shoert. they are not sassy at all. they are sheep looking hair all around my head and I cut them when I forget that they do not know how to behave when they are short :o)

Really really like your haircut.

We do not have a hair donation here in Slovenia. It's a really great think to do.

LOVE IT! I've donated mine 3 times. It doesn't grow nearly as fast as yours but I love having it long and then hacking it all off to have it short for a while. What a wonderful cause too. I like to bring my braids in to school to show my kids. Several of my students have donated as well.
