I found 3 frames I already had at my house that we were no longer using! I sanded them down.
I spray painted them with a cream base and waited 1-2 hours for it to dry.
I spray painted a cinnamon red crackle paint over the cream for a distressed look.
My Dear Husband made this AWESOME mat from scrapbook paper for the big frame and we placed the photos in the frames (one 8X10 and two 4X6's). I hot glued the smaller ones to the big frame on the corners to give the 3-d effect. My mom LOVED it!
I just love using things I already have in the house!

wow, that's really great! fawnda, I'm really impressed at how many beautiful things you manage to make in a week. I'm lucky if I can get something done in a month. anyway, that's a great idea - my mom's bday is coming up in a couple months. :)
I love this! I've never worked with crackle paint before. Do you have any control over where it "crackles"? I also love the fact that you have your son's tantrum preserved for all time. He'll just love being reminded of it when he's a teenager :).
you do not get to control the crackles but you can control how much by putting on a lighter/heavier layer.
And yes, we will be teasing our son about this for the rest of his life! : )
