Spring Ruffle top

I have wanted to make a cute top since I have started sewing again. I was waiting for the right tutorial to come along. One that was easy enough for me to follow but was also stylish. It was a tall order, I know

When I saw the this Spring Ruffle Top tutorial on Sew Mama Sew I knew that this was what I was waiting for!


Here is how it turned out! The fabric that I found was made in Korea which is where we adopted our son from so, it makes this shirt extra special!


I learned some new things while doing this (like how to do pleats and ruffles and that ironing matters in sewing). Don't look at my stitching too closely! But over all I am happy with it! I can't wait for it to be a little warming so I can show it off!

I am excited to wear it for summer! I might even make another version of it with different fabric (ruffle on the bottom and gathering instead of pleats)... we'll see if I can find some cute fabric on sale!
